Sermons from 2016 (Page 2)
The Victory of the Gospel
When Christ returns victory will be accomplished. The victory of the gospel is resurrection, the eradication of sin and death, and the kingdom of God. This brings great hope, purpose and meaning to our lives and labors for the Lord.
The Resurrection Body
“Sure…resurrection can happen! Even if it was true, what would resurrected bodies be like? Zombie invasion?” Perhaps you’ve had or heard this objection before. The Scriptures give this answer to this objection. We’ll see that we must humble ourselves and open our minds to consider the God who created heaven and earth. We must also examine the influences of our culture on our views of life after death and be informed biblically for true hope and joy in what is…
The Lord’s Supper: Revisited
We return to look at the Lord’s Supper and its history. We see a weekly practice, a weekly meal which was marred by the perversion of outside influences and the darkness of the medieval church. NOTE: At the beginning of the video the dates referenced are 1955 but in actual fact they are 1555!
Living in View of Resurrection
Life would be meaningless if Christ was not raised from the dead. It is time that we wake up and live according to that reality. We have here a call to believe all of what Christ has done and all of who he is. Let us not be influenced or corrupted by the false ideas of our surroundings but rather transform our minds by the word of God.
Christ and Our Resurrection
When we doubt in the assurance of our resurrection, where do we look? We look to Christ! In this text we see Christ as the firstfruits, guaranteeing the resurrection of all those in him. In this text we see Christ as the second Adam, reversing the effects of the fall and reversing the curse of death through resurrection. In this text we see Christ as the conquering King who will return and destroy all his enemies, including death.
The Trinity: Part 3
We finish the rest of the prologue of John’s gospel. We look at 9 characteristics or descriptions of the living Word, the Lord Jesus Christ.
The Historical Resurrection
Though many see the resurrection as something absurd to believe the facts tell a much different story. In this sermon we see that the gospel witnesses are contemporary with the events they report. We see their stories corroborated by many other sources. We see the reliable transmission of their testimony and we recognize their lives sealed their testimony with blood. Christianity is an historical religion based on real historical events. What are you going to do with Jesus?
The Trinity: Part 2
We take a detailed look at the first verse of John’s gospel. What we see clearly is that both heresy and contradiction are avoided by the precise use of language that helps us understand who God is and who Jesus is.

The Trinity: Part 1
After considering who Jesus is, fully God and fully man, we now must consider the doctrine of the Trinity. This first message lays the foundation for future building as we seek to understand God as he has revealed himself to us.
