RBS Church Partnership

RBS Church Partnership

The saying is trustworthy: If anyone aspires to the office of overseer, he desires a noble task.”

-1 Timothy 3:1

Introduction

In the fall of 2018, Fairview Baptist Church partnered with Reformed Baptist Seminary to provide biblical theological education. From this partnership, members of Fairview receive free tuition at RBS as they pursue their online theological studies.

As a “church-based” institution, RBS operates under the oversight of the local church and the counsel of an advisory board, academic committee, and other likeminded churches. The seminary’s faculty primarily consists of instructors who not only have biblical knowledge and teaching ability, but also are qualified pastors engaged in pastoral ministry. Finally, RBS requires one of the student’s pastors to provide general oversight of his training and to serve as his mentor and proctor.

RBS exists to help churches train men who aspire to gospel ministry, as well as to provide further training for men who are already engaged in gospel ministry. Secondarily, as an extension of the local church’s teaching ministry, the seminary also provides further instruction for laypeople who desire to enhance their understanding of Scripture.

Free Tuition and Free Auditing

As mentioned above, the Seminary allows churches in its Church Partnership Program to sign a number of students up for free. Beyond a small semester enrollment fee, the rest is completely free. If you are a man who is seriously considering gospel ministry, we encourage you to look into RBS and begin a program at the church. Talk to Pastoral Assistant Rory St. John for more information or send him an email (rory@fairviewbaptistchurch.ca).

Also, RBS has kindly offered anyone to audit many of their courses for free! This means you can listen to and watch lectures for free, without going through all of the coursework and working toward a degree. This is a great option for those who are not driven towards ministry, but want to learn from some high-quality teachers at a Seminary level. Click here to see what courses are available.

The harvest is plentiful, but the laborers are few; therefore pray earnestly to the Lord of the harvest to send out laborers into his harvest.”
