This page lists the regular and special evangelistic outreaches from Fairview Baptist Church. We believe that pastors must “do the work of an evangelist” (2 Timothy 4:5) and that as a church, we must strive “side by side for the faith of the gospel” (Philippians 1:27).
Regular Outreaches
Homeless Food Outreach
Once a week on Wednesdays, we focus on ministry to the poor and homeless. We deliver food to them with the gospel in word and tract form. You can join us for one or both parts of this ministry: (1) Food Prep Time (10am in the Fellowship Hall); (2) Food Delivery Time (6pm at the Drop-In Centre). For more information, see here.
Friday Evangelism
On Friday afternoons between 3-5pm, we go to Chinook LRT station for some intentional evangelism, through conversation, gospel tracts, and a unique method we call the “Let’s Talk Truth” table. People can engage with us on any question and receive a biblical and gospel-centered answer. More info here.
Coffee House Evangelism
On Saturdays, from 12-2pm, our church is able to host evangelistic conversations at Bono Coffee Roasters (733 1 Ave NE). There is a “Fairview Tab” that you can put your drinks on, and you can invite unbelieving friends with whom to share the gospel. This unique ministry creates an atmosphere of hospitality and generosity where real gospel conversations can open up.
Special Outreaches
Stampede Outreach
During the weeks of the Calgary Stampede, we ramp up our evangelism initiatives. This year, we went downtown for four days with the “Let’s Talk Truth” table and gospel tracts. Stay tuned for next year’s outreach.
Holiday Outreaches
Before or during major holidays like Easter, Reformation Day, and Christmas, we often hold special outreaches. Stay tuned for more information.
