The Foundation: God’s Power
The rescue of sinners from the penalty of sin, the power of sin, and the domain of darkness is a result of the supernatural power of God. The same power that spoke this universe into existence is the same power towards and working in his people. Don’t accept a counterfeit god with no power. Don’t accept a counterfeit man-made religion that is not marked by the power of God. The gospel is God’s power to save for all who believe.
Show Me Your Glory
Moses asked God to “Show me your glory.” Is this not our desire as well? Moses asked this right after the incident in Israel with the golden calf. The people had exchanged the glory of God for a mute and powerless idol. Even today, in Christendom, we’ve exchanged the glory of God for idols. We need to clear away the false ideas and bad theology to make way to see the glory of God in salvation. Here’s a call not…
Honor, Recognition and Reception
The Christian community is to be marked out by their love for one another. Jesus said that this is how people will know that the church are his disciples. In fact, love for Jesus and love for one another is a necessary and defining characteristic of a true Christian. Part of loving one another is honoring one another and recognizing those who devote themselves to the service of the saints.
Act Like Men, Love Like Christ
What does it mean for the church like “act like men”? Here we learn 5 areas of needed courage with 5 sources of courage. Not only is courage so vital to the Christian in our day, but it is vital that we are watchful in love, that we stand firm in the faith in love, and that we are strong and courageous in love. What a timely message for the church today from the ever-relevant word of God!
