Sermons on prophecy
The Time of the End
The longest and most detailed vision in Daniel describes hundreds of years of Israel’s history. A history that culminates in a time of great trouble under Antiochus Epiphanes around 165BC. You’ll need the text open in front of you to follow along with this sermon. In the end, we must acknowledge the all-powerful sovereign God who rules over kingdoms. May this be a reminder to God’s people that we must stay faithful to God even in the most extreme circumstances.
The Vision of the Ram and Goat
Daniel received clarity on his vision of the four beasts recorded in chapter 7. This chapter helps to demystify many speculations made about the end times. Nebuchadnezzar’s Dream and Daniel’s God
Nebuchadnezzar dreams in 602BC about events in the future. Daniel, given grace by God to interpret those dreams demonstrates the power and wisdom of God. Here we see the sovereign God who is the author of history, who declares the end from the beginning, tells us ahead of time what he plans to do with powerful kingdoms. He also tells us about the coming kingdom of God manifest in the Lord Jesus Christ.
