What happened on the first day of creation? When did this happen? And why does it matter so much? In this sermon, we get into the first few verses of Genesis 1 and see that these opening phrases are instrumental to a rock-solid faith in Christ’s call to be a disciple.

Are fossils hard evidence for evolution? While many people today believe the fossil record shows Darwin’s evolutionary tree of life, the fossil record has always stood as an objection to Darwin’s theory. Today, the evidence is even more against evolution than it was in Darwin’s day. As we consider the evidence, again we’re amazed at the truthfulness and trustworthiness of Scripture!

Modern biology has revealed that simple cells contain loads of specified information. Does this support evolutionary ideas or does it again demonstrate the truthfulness of God’s word? With such a hotly debated topic as origins there certainly are many different approaches to the first book found in the Scriptures. In this sermon, we briefly review the different approaches to reconciling science and Scripture and then discuss five reasons why affirming biblical origins is important.
