Christ and Our Resurrection
When we doubt in the assurance of our resurrection, where do we look? We look to Christ! In this text we see Christ as the firstfruits, guaranteeing the resurrection of all those in him. In this text we see Christ as the second Adam, reversing the effects of the fall and reversing the curse of death through resurrection. In this text we see Christ as the conquering King who will return and destroy all his enemies, including death.

We take a detailed look at the first verse of John’s gospel. What we see clearly is that both heresy and contradiction are avoided by the precise use of language that helps us understand who God is and who Jesus is.
The Historical Resurrection
Though many see the resurrection as something absurd to believe the facts tell a much different story. In this sermon we see that the gospel witnesses are contemporary with the events they report. We see their stories corroborated by many other sources. We see the reliable transmission of their testimony and we recognize their lives sealed their testimony with blood.
