The God Who Creates

"For [God's] invisible attributes, namely, his eternal power and divine nature, have been clearly perceived, ever since the creation of the world, in the things that have been made" (Romans 1:20).

Certainly this statement from Scripture is true. We see God's wisdom and power in his creatures, in nature and in our universe. It is plain to all and invokes in every single human being a sense of awe and wonder. This awe and wonder is designed to bring forth praise and honor to our great Creator.

Creation establishes worship, God's lordship, and even salvation as we long for the new creation. Certainly our God is worthy to be praised!

The Doctrine of God

The Doctrine of God series is not your typical look through the attributes of God. Certainly that is a worthy and lofty goal. In this series, however, we look at God in action. How God works and what he does. We look at the God who creates, the God who decrees, upholds, and works miracles. Certainly when we see God in action we marvel at his majesty, wisdom and power. When we see God for who he is we are humbled, we are laid bare, and we worship him as he alone is worthy of all worship and praise.

Tim Stephens is the senior pastor of Fairview Baptist Church. Tim grew up on a farm in Eastern Ontario and has graduated with a Computer Engineering degree from Queen’s University, a Masters of Divinity degree from Detroit Baptist Theological Seminary, and is currently pursuing his Doctor of Ministry in Expository Preaching at the Master’s Seminary. He is happily married to Raquel and they have eight children.
