Sermons on homosexuality
Sins Destruction: The Root and Fruit of LGBTQ+
Romans 6:23 says, “The wages of sin is death.” The consequence of sin is pain, misery, destruction, and eventually death. We see this in all types of sin and it is especially the case for sexual sin. This sermon looks at the ideas underlying the LGBTQ+ movement and how they can be embraced unwittingly by the church. We’re reminded of the consequence of sinful ideas and then see the (only) answer in Jesus Christ who gives salvation as a free…
The Beauty of Biblical Sexuality
Pastor Tim Stephens preaches on the beauty of biblical sexuality. This sermons examines the foundation of male and female, marriage, and sexuality as God’s blessing to the world. Here is an explanation of Genesis 1 & 2 concerning God’s creation of humanity and a refutation of the lies of our day. Passage: Genesis 1:26-28
A Statement on the Criminalization of Conversion Therapy
This past week, Bill-C4 has become law in Canada. It is now a criminal offense to advertise, promote, or engage in conversion therapy. What is conversion therapy? The law states, “conversion therapy means a practice, treatment or service designed to (a)”‚change a person’s sexual orientation to heterosexual; (b)”‚change a person’s gender identity to cisgender; (c)”‚change a person’s gender expression so that it conforms to the sex assigned to the person at birth; (d)”‚repress or reduce non-heterosexual attraction or sexual behaviour;…
Calling Sinners to Repentance
Jesus calls the notorious sinner Levi (a tax collector) to follow him and become a disciple. Levi takes up the call and invites Jesus and his notorious friends to a great feast drawing the ire of the religious establishment. There are important lessons for us here on how we deal with “notorious sinners.” Pastor Tim applies this text to how we ought to approach sharing truth with those who identify as LGBTQ+. Passage: Luke 5:27-32
The Church and the Conversion Therapy Ban
On May 25th, 2020 Calgary City Council passed a new bylaw banning the practice or advertising of “conversion therapy.” Many are concerned on how this will affect the church and Christians who disagree with homosexuality and transgenderism. This talk seeks to address the church and how this bylaw (and other laws like it) affect us and our message to the world.
The Fiery Furnace
This sermon looks at an important lesson from Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego. They trusted that God is able to deliver them in any situation, but if not they would never bow to another god or ethic. This message is needed today as religiously faithful people stick out in a pluralistic society such as ours. Will you bow to the new sexual ethic of our age? Will you bow to “reproductive rights”? Will you bow to save money, status, employment, or…
Transgenderism and the Bible
The push for people with gender dysphoria to become transgender is an attempt to deny Genesis 1, that only affirms Genesis 3. What is really needed is a Revelation 21 transformation by way of the cross of Jesus Christ. This is the essence of what is argued here from Scripture. There is hope for all of us in a sin cursed world and it is found in the gospel of Jesus Christ. NOTE: Be sure to watch to the end…

Such Were Some of You
We are not to be deceived, those who live immorally will not inherit the kingdom of God. A bold and stark warning. Thankfully this is not the end of the story. God has provided a way of forgiveness, a way of righteousness through Jesus Christ.
Gay Marriage and the Bible
Did Jesus address homosexuality? Many say no. Jesus did, however, clearly define marriage and the bounds of sexual intimacy between one man and one woman in a one flesh union. This is not “traditional” marriage or Jewish custom. Jesus said that this is how God designed male and female and society at the beginning, in the garden of Eden. What we see today, divorce, adultery, same-sex marriage, is a result of sin. From the beginning it was not so.
Homosexuality and the Bible
What does the Bible say about homosexuality? To be upfront, the Bible says it is sinful. This sermon goes through a variety of text to show that and then reflects on a number of objections that are common when such an issue is discussed. What we all need, since we are all sinners, is the forgiveness and mercy of God in the Lord Jesus Christ. Denying sin will not lead to forgiveness, rather denying self, taking up our cross and…
