The Glory of God in the Salvation of Sinners

The Result: Display of Power, Wisdom and Glory

In the final part of this series we look at the power of the preaching of Jesus Christ crucified. It must be preached and through its preaching God will be glorified. Not only this, but we must be aware that it will be rejected so we avoid the lies of false gospels that are more easily received. God, in his plan, determines that the preaching of his word will be used to bring his people to salvation. May this give…

The Response: New Creatures in Christ

In this part of the series we consider God’s role is keeping those who are his fully and finally till they receive their promised inheritance. There are misconceptions and characterizations of the term “once saved, always saved” and this message examines a number of texts to clear up confusion and to biblical set forth the doctrine of perseverance of the saints.

The Application: Conquering Grace

Why did I believe the gospel when so many reject it? Why am I convinced of my problem of sin when so many are not? These are mysterious questions for the believer. Today we explore those questions as we consider God’s work in overcoming our rebellious hearts with his conquering grace.

The Cost: Christ’s Atonement (Part 2)

This is the conclusion of the message dealing with the atonement of Jesus Christ. We search the Scriptures to seek the answer to the question: What did Christ’s atonement achieve? In part two we look at common passages cited in objection to a definite and powerful atonement.

The Cost: Christ’s Atonement

What is the glory of the atonement? Is the glory of the atonement because of its extent or its effect? Is the glory of the atonement in its potential or in its power? See Christ as high and exalted as we consider his work on the cross.

The Plan: God’s Choice

If you could pick one of the following questions, which would you like answered most? (1) Why doesn’t God save everyone? or (2) Why does God save anyone? The question we pick will be governed by our view of man and our view of God. In this sermon, both questions are answered as we see just how big and powerful our God truly is. May we be drawn to him and not resistant to his sovereign power!

The Problem: Man’s Sin

God’s glory in salvation is magnified when we consider the sinfulness of mankind and the powerful rescue God accomplished. We’re more sinful that we ever imagined. This sermon seeks to further our view of sin and what God accomplished in rescuing sinners from such a miserable estate.

The Foundation: God’s Power

The rescue of sinners from the penalty of sin, the power of sin, and the domain of darkness is a result of the supernatural power of God. The same power that spoke this universe into existence is the same power towards and working in his people. Don’t accept a counterfeit god with no power. Don’t accept a counterfeit man-made religion that is not marked by the power of God. The gospel is God’s power to save for all who believe.

Show Me Your Glory

Moses asked God to “Show me your glory.” Is this not our desire as well? Moses asked this right after the incident in Israel with the golden calf. The people had exchanged the glory of God for a mute and powerless idol. Even today, in Christendom, we’ve exchanged the glory of God for idols. We need to clear away the false ideas and bad theology to make way to see the glory of God in salvation. Here’s a call not…
