Behemoth

We consider (behold) Behemoth. Here God directs us to a great creature that contains important lessons for us in a world of suffering and circumstances beyond our control. May we gain wisdom as we hear from God.

Jesus Is the Treasure

As we take time to consider the past year and look forward to the new one, we must be mindful of our goal and focus. In this exhortation from Colossians 2:1-3, we’re reminded that Christ is the treasure and the measure of what is good, lovely, and worth living and dying for.

The King Is Born

Traditions can grow so familiar that their meaning can be lost or forgotten. At Christmas we can often forget that this is a celebration of the entrance of the King of kings into his creation. Christ has come and his kingdom continues to expand. Here is a cause for celebration and rejoicing!

How Do We Prepare?

Alex Russell preaches from 1 Peter 4:1-2, “Since therefore Christ suffered in the flesh, arm yourselves with the same way of thinking, for whoever has suffered in the flesh has ceased from sin, so as to live for the rest of the time in the flesh no longer for human passions but for the will of God.”

The Light of the World

Jesus is the light of the world and his light is still shining in this world through his body, the church. We reflect on what it means to be a light in the darkness of this world. May the church rise up and shine the light and be that city on a hill.

Coming Short of Repentance

God continues to address Job in his second speech. Job has no argument or response to God yet this comes short of true repentance. Job must not only drop his case, but repent of his accusations against God. Here we get a closer look at what God expects in repentance.

Faith and the Word

Alex Russell preaches from Romans 10:17, “So faith comes from hearing, and hearing through the word of Christ.”

A Time for War and a Time for Peace

In this sermon we examine 1 Peter 2 and living as Christians under authority in a fight for the gospel. When do we rise up and when do we lay low? Important questions to consider as we approach the issues of our day that we all face.

When God Is Big

It is common for us to bring God down and elevate ourselves. We’re convinced this will lead to our pleasure. What we must understand that our highest delight is when God is big. Here we see the beauty and hope of a big God.

Wisdom from the Beasts of the Earth

God speaks about 7 different animals or pairs and uses each one to question Job (and us). In doing so, God teaches us valuable lessons about himself and his power and control over suffering.

God’s Care for His Creatures

God demonstrates his understanding and power over the animals that man could never possess. If God can so manage the animal world, certainly he has the understanding and wisdom to manage the world of men. In this message Pastor Tim deals with the common objection to God’s care of his creation. Evolution is said to provide the mechanism to explain the origin and development of species all around us. It is important to understand this false doctrine and how it…

No One Like Him

God continues to address Job (and us) on how he is the Creator and Sustainer. We must learn humility, trust, and worship before the greatness of God. Our society continues in the same rebellion as Babel. A return to God as Creator is necessary. So too is the church influenced by the world and needs to be reminded of God as Creator.
