The Descent Into Hell

In this sermon, we are going to consider what happened to Christ's soul (or spirit) after his physical death before his ascension to the Father. Throughout the message, we will learn about Christ's dominion over sin and death, and how he is the supreme ruler over all realms, including heaven, earth, and hell. The Scriptures point to Christ as the great victor over sin and death for those who have put their trust in him as the Messiah.

Tim Stephens is the senior pastor of Fairview Baptist Church. Tim grew up on a farm in Eastern Ontario and has graduated with a Computer Engineering degree from Queen’s University, a Masters of Divinity degree from Detroit Baptist Theological Seminary, and is currently pursuing his Doctor of Ministry in Expository Preaching at the Master’s Seminary. He is happily married to Raquel and they have eight children.
