Feeble Faith, Strong Savior
Prayer is an expression of faith in a strong Savior. As our faith in Jesus Christ grows, the product is powerful prayer.Lack of faith results in lack of prayer which leads to lack of power. In this text, Jesus highlights the faithlessness of his disciples and directs their focus back to himself as the object of faith. Jesus also shows the power of God to redeem the captive that is available to his followers through prayer.
Act Like Men
What is needed of men in our day? Men must be men of conviction and men who are strong and courageous. The Scriptures must be our meditation day and night, we must remember that the sovereign God is with us, and we must pursue the noble task that God has given us as men in our homes and church.

A Commitment to Prayer
God has commanded the local church to be engaged in fervent and persistent prayer (1 Tim 2:1-7; Luke 18:1-8). As a loving Father, he desires to answer the prayers of his children (Matt 7:7-11). Therefore, the church should be committed to regular times of corporate prayer (Acts 1:14; 2:42; 4:23-31; 13:1-3), to caring intercession for fellow believers (Phil 1:9-11), and to praying for the advancement of the gospel and salvation of the lost (2 Thess 3:1; Rom 10:1).
