Behold and Sing
In this third and final message examining Isaiah 42:1-12, this sermon considers the faithfulness of God to make and keep his promises. He is not powerless like false gods and is jealous for his worship, being deserving of it. Here is a call for us to see his faithfulness and so trust him and worship him in singing and joy. Behold the Covenant
Isaiah 42:1-12 is an exposition of Jesus Christ, the servant of God. In this message we are directed to consider what it means for the Son of God to be given as a covenant for the people. This unpacks the heart of the gospel, the good news of Christianity, and directs us to take our sin to Jesus for rescue. This message is part two of three. Passage: Isaiah 42:5-7
Behold the Servant
Isaiah 42:1-12 is an exposition of Jesus Christ, the servant of God. In this message we are directed to ponder and meditate upon Jesus as God’s Son; his service to bring salvation through his death and resurrection; his tender and mild manner of advancing his kingdom; and his resolve to not quit until all his enemies are a footstool for his feet. This message is part one of three. Passage: Isaiah 42:1-4
The God Who Conceals and Reveals
This text lays us low and raises us up. We learn here about the authority and power of God to both conceal and reveal the kingdom of God. The triune God is the author and finisher of our salvation. In response, the Son rejoices in the Holy Spirit and gives thanks to the Father. May we follow that response. Passage: Luke 10:21-24
