Sermons from April 2022
Commendable Faith
Jesus continues his miraculous ministry of healing where he demonstrates his divine power. In this sermon, we consider the commendable faith of a Roman soldier who is exemplary for us and our faith. Here we gain insight into the proper response to Jesus as he hear who he is, what he says, and what he does. Passage: Luke 7:1-17
The Victorious Christ and His Spoils
As we celebrate the resurrection of Jesus, this sermon considers the great purpose of Christ becoming a curse for us. Galatians 3:14 explains he died to redeem us from the curse “so that in Christ Jesus the blessing of Abraham might com to the nations.” What we see here directs us to worship and adoration of the mighty Savior. Passage: Galatians 3:14
Christ Became a Curse for Us
In this sermon, Pastor Tim reminds us from Galatians 3:13 that Jesus died for an important purpose. The reviling, shame, and wrath he endured was so that the curse upon us might fall upon him and rescue us in reconciling us to God. Friday is so good because Christ won our salvation through his death. Passage: Galatians 3:10-13
Christian Ministry: In the World
This is part five of a 5-part series on Christian ministry. In this sermon, we consider service to God in the world and the exhortation to stand firm, to pray, and to boldly proclaim the gospel of peace. Here is a needed message today that compels us to go, stand, and speak in service to Christ. Passage: Ephesians 6:10-20
Christian Ministry: At Work
This is part four of a 5-part series on Christian ministry. Ministry is people serving people, led by the word and Spirit, to behold Christ and become like him. This must happen in our vocations. In this sermon, we consider service to God in our vocations and explore the Christian ethic of work and our call to faithfulness. Passage: Ephesians 6:5-9
