He Came to Bring Us to God

Why did Jesus come into the world. Most would say that he came to die. But his death was a means to an end, that we might be brought to God!

We consider this purpose statement in 1 Peter 3:18, we see the importance Christ's coming for our union or fellowship with God. This is the purpose of his coming and his suffering.
We also consider that he did this for US. A people. Making us brothers and sisters in Christ.

There are important truths that we would do well to remember this season.

Tim Stephens is the senior pastor of Fairview Baptist Church. Tim grew up on a farm in Eastern Ontario and has graduated with a Computer Engineering degree from Queen’s University, a Masters of Divinity degree from Detroit Baptist Theological Seminary, and is currently pursuing his Doctor of Ministry in Expository Preaching at the Master’s Seminary. He is happily married to Raquel and they have eight children.
