Baptism

Baptism

Immediately following the 11am service there will be a baptism. Baptism (the immersion of a person in water) symbolizes a person’s union with Christ in his death and resurrection (Rom 6:3; Gal 3:27). It is a sign that identifies the person being baptized with the Christian community and their union with Christ. This is a time of celebration because it testifies to Christ building his church. It is also a time of encouragement as we hear the testimony of a changed life.

And Jesus came and said to them, “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you. And behold, I am with you always, to the end of the age.”Matthew 28:18-20
