Total Depravity

In this lesson we look at the doctrine of total depravity. It's an exploration of what it means to inherit a sinful nature. After a clarification of what this doctrine is not, we explore what it is. While often denied and much maligned in today's culture, this doctrine exalts the glory of God and the beauty of his salvation from first to last.



The Doctrine of Man

The teachings about who man is before God is so very important. These teachings are constantly being denied or twisted, even in churches. We must understand who we are before God if we are going to find solutions for life's problems. The basis for dignity and value; the basis for gender, sexuality, and marriage; the basis of the evil we see in the world; the need for an external solution... All these truths come from a right understanding of who we are, who God made us to be.

Tim Stephens

Tim Stephens is the senior pastor of Fairview Baptist Church. Tim grew up on a farm in Eastern Ontario and has graduated with a Computer Engineering degree from Queen’s University, a Masters of Divinity degree from Detroit Baptist Theological Seminary, and is currently pursuing his Doctor of Ministry in Expository Preaching at the Master’s Seminary. He is happily married to Raquel and they have eight children.
