The First Day and the Age of the Earth

What happened on the first day of creation? When did this happen? And why does it matter so much?

In this sermon, we get into the first few verses of Genesis 1 and see that these opening phrases are instrumental to a rock-solid faith in Christ's call to be a disciple.



Genesis

"In the beginning..." We live in a day and age where there are so many different opinions on our origins. What we see from Scripture is that Genesis lays the foundation for all important Christian doctrines and neither science or new theologies can undermine what God has said.

Tim Stephens is the senior pastor of Fairview Baptist Church. Tim grew up on a farm in Eastern Ontario and has graduated with a Computer Engineering degree from Queen’s University, a Masters of Divinity degree from Detroit Baptist Theological Seminary, and is currently pursuing his Doctor of Ministry in Expository Preaching at the Master’s Seminary. He is happily married to Raquel and they have eight children.
